Teachers relate how educational visits and out-of-school teaching helps to bring learning to life for their classes. Children and young people often benefit from a deeper understanding of history, culture or the environment.

Learning outside the classroom can inspire and motivate pupils in new and exciting ways. With a wealth of educational opportunities on the doorstep, schools in the region are in an envious position.

However, teachers tell us they need an easy way to find the information they require when planning such trips. This website has been designed for teachers in Devon, Dorset & Cornwall in response to this need.

So - if you are a teacher in these areas looking for a suitable venue, whether for a day visit or a residential stay, then this site has been designed with you in mind! There’s everything from caves to castles, adventure activities to ancient Egyptian centres. There’s also a useful section listing people and organisations available to come into your school with their specialist skills or knowledge – dance and drama, wildlife encounters, walls to climb and more!
