Charmouth Fossil Hunting Walks

Explore the pre-historic world, evolution, fossils and rocks with geologist Chris Pamplin. Guided fossil hunting walks for your class. Chris will take up to about 60 children at a time. Cost is £3.00 per child and adult helpers go free. Min.booking £55. Walks take 2 hours including a 20 minute talk. For groups over 40 Chris is joined by a second leader.

Chris talks about understanding fossils and life in the past, what a fossil is, how they got there, what they are made of, geological time, time before humans, rocks and minerals, dinosaurs and other fossils. Chris is a geologist( B.Sc.) with 11 years experience of taking children fossil hunting . All walks are risk assessed and copies are available for schools. Your class remains your responsibility during the visit. Chris was formerly Earth Science Advisor for the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and prior to that Senior Warden at Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre.
