School gates open to The South West Rotary Youth Games

2018 is the 20th year of the South West Rotary Youth Games, the region’s largest annual youth multi-sport event. As ever, teams will represent different districts across Devon and Cornwall, largely supported by their local authority. For the first time ever, this year’s event has thrown the doors open to schools, clubs, scouts, guides and community groups to take part in activities by entering on their website.

Chris Broadbent, Chief Executive, South West Youth Games Trust said:

“Quite simply, if you want to take part in Devon and Cornwall’s biggest youth sports event, you are just a few clicks away. We have a huge range of sports and activities, from girls’ rugby to dance, badminton to cyclocross.

“We have also rewritten our rules, so our events are all targeted at beginner levels for those not yet members of clubs. The South West Rotary Youth Games will be the first rung on the ladder for any young person who might be interested in community sport or more regular physical activity. We promise everyone the most inspirational Olympic-style day of sport in the South West and - who knows - some schools might even get their hands on a shiny medal or two?”
